New Sunday Evening Events

We are starting a new pattern of worship and activities for Sunday evenings which will look like this:

1st Sunday STAMP at 7.00 pm
2nd Sunday Youth Club from 7.00 - 8.30 pm
3rd Sunday STREAMS at 7.00 pm
4th Sunday Youth Choir from 7.00 - 8.00 pm.

See below for details of each one. We would love to see you at any of our services.

STAMP!

STAMP (ST Andrew's Music and Praise) is our new service for the first Sunday of the month at 7pm. It's a service of contemporary worship and upbeat, uplifting music. All are welcome.

Streams

On the third Sunday of each month at 7pm we hold our Streams services, which are more contemplative and informal than our Sunday morning services. This month (February 19th) the form will be Compline (a traditional service held at the end of the day) with some reflection and music.

Next Month (March 18th) will be a Taizé-style service. Taizé is a religious community in France which is renowned for the beauty of its music.

New Youth Activities

On Sunday evenings, we are running a Youth Club (2nd Sunday) and Youth Choir (4th Sunday).

Youth Club

The Youth Club (second Sunday) is aimed at children in Year 6 and older and will include a mixture of games and activities. It starts at 7pm and finishes at 8.30pm and there will be refreshments.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir is aimed at the same sort of age group and we hope that the youngsters will be singing at our monthly Family Service. They made their debut at the January Family Service. It runs from 7pm - 8pm on the 4th Sunday of the month.

Confirmation Classes

Have you thought about being confirmed? Or do you know someone who might be thinking about being confirmed? If the answer is 'yes' then now is the time to have a word with the Vicar or email him. This year's Deanery Confirmation service will be on Saturday 21st April and we will be starting classes shortly for anyone who might be interested.

New Service Times

10am from 8th January

The Sung Eucharist at St Andrew's, Soham will be at 10am instead of 9.30. The 8 o'clock service remains unchanged.

Wicken serivces will also take place at 10am instead of 11am except on the third Sunday of the month which will continue with an 8am service.

Christian Aid Week

Many thanks to everyone who collected or helped with any Christian Aid Week event this year and to everybody who made a donation.

We raised a grand total of £2132.83 - slightly up on last year. Thank you.

We have gathered a collection of children's books and workbooks on the themes of death, grief, loss and bereavement, as a resource for anyone who may be helping children with these issues. The books can be borrowed individually or looked through as a set to help decide which to buy for a particular situation. Email the Vicar or phone him on 01353 720423 for more information.
