Lifts to Church

Sunday 27 September 2009 at 11:56 am One of the points of our Mission Action Plan is to improve access to our services. We would like to be able to offer lifts to church to people who can no longer get there under their own steam. In order to do this we need a list of people who would be willing to offer others a lift to church once a month. If we had enough volunteers we could spread the load lightly. We already have some volunteers and somebody to co-ordinate the scheme. If you can help please contact Tim or sign up at the back of church.

Shoe Box Appeal

Along with many other churches, schools and organisations St Andrew's is taking part in the Samaritan's Purse project Operation Christmas Child. This aims to distribute Christmas presents to disadvantaged children across Central and Eastern Europe, Southern Africa and India.

Church members will fill shoe boxes with with toys, art materials and practical items. They are then taken to a local collection point to be distributed by Samaritan's Purse to children in orphanages, hospitals and homeless shelters.

If you would like to join in please pick up a leaflet from the church (near the door) which gives ideas of what to fill the box with and also has a donation slip -suggested donation £2.50 to help pay transportation costs.

Opening Times, St Andrew's

St Andrew's is open daily 9.15am -5.30pm for prayer and reflection or for visitors to look around our beautiful historic building. Members of the congregation often pop in and will try to answer any questions you may have. There is a guide book on the leaflet shelves near the door.
