St Andrew's Choir

We have a small but enthusiastic four-part choir - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass - which supports the 10.00 am Sung Eucharist Service at St. Andrew's Church. We sing a Psalm between the New Testament Reading and the Gospel and this is normally set to Anglican Chant, but is sung to Plainsong during Advent and Lent. The choir also sings an anthem during the Communion as well as the occasional descant. We aim to keep the music appropriate, but varied in style and composition from the 16th century to the present day. We are always on the lookout for new members who enjoy singing and have a voice which is true in pitch and able to blend with others. We practise for one hour in St. Andrew's Church from 7.00 to 8.00 pm on each Friday preceding a Sung Eucharist.
